Now a days, internal combustion engines are the essential parts of transportation and mechanized agricultural system. So the consumption of diesel and petroleum has been up surged. As petroleum is a nonrenewable source and recent surge in petroleum prices have regenerated interest in bio-fuels. It has shown that biodiesel- fueled engines produce less CO, unburned HC compared to diesel fuel, but higher NOx emissions. Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) is an efficient technique to reduce NOx emission as it lowers the flame temperature in the combustion chamber. The objective of this work is to reduce NOx emission from jatropha biodiesel fueled CI engine. A single- cylinder, water cooled, constant speed direct injection diesel engine was used for this experiment. The content of HC, NOx, and CO in the exhaust gas were measured to estimate the emissions. Various engine performance parameters such as brake thermal efficiency, and brake specific fuel consumption were calculated from the acquired data. Application of EGR with biodiesel fuel resulted in reductions in NOx emissions without any engine modification. The graphs were plotted comparing the emissions from diesel fuel and jatropha biodiesel fuel with 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and EGR.

The use of Cu-Al2O3 composites for the applications which need the materials with high wear resistance, thermal and electrical conductivity is the key inspiration for studying wear behavior of Copper-Alumina metal matrix composites. This study describes the method for formulating a correlation for wear rate of Cu-Al2O3 MMC‘s. Two types of samples viz. electrolytic and atomized copper powder samples prepared by PM route are employed for this research. The 2k full factorial design is used for designing the wear experiment. The wear correlation is established by regression analysis and ANOVA. It is concluded that regression model is not best suited for modeling the wear rate since interactions are dominant.

Engine is one of the most important components of a road vehicle such as car. High performance sports car has their engine 18-24 supported by bracket. It plays an important role in improving the comfort & work environment of a car. The improvement of engine bracket system has been the subject of intense interest for many years. It is necessary to design proper engine bracket for a car. As such, engine bracket has been designed as a framework to support engine. Fatigue of engine bracket has been continuously a concern which may lead to structural failure if the resulting stresses are severe and excessive. Prolonged exposure to whole-body stresses in the working environment may lead to fatigue and in some cases it damages the car. Optimizing the mounts system in early stages of power train design is possible by computer-aided engineering tools. CAE results can be analyzed without any costly prototypes. The results can be used to define strategy for the vehicle mount system and optimize the locations and the rates of mounts.

Gesture recognition is a dynamic area of research in human-computer interfaces. In this paper, “Traffic control System” is used as an application. There are two method for gesture recognition, first is vision based and other is sensor based. In this paper sensor based method is used for gesture recognition on ARM platform. For that thresholding method is used as detecting algorithm. SD card is used to store the voice data and transmitted using XBEE module.

This paper present estimation of power system state by using both traditional measurements and synchrophasor measurements. This starts with the buses with synchronized phasor data or phasor measurement unit (PMU) and enables highly accurate estimation of portions of the power system with connectivity to these phasor data buses. Power system state estimation refers to the collection of a redundant set of measurements from around the system and computing a state vector of the voltage at each observed bus. Measurements which are non-linear functions of the system state are collected and load- flow-like calculations are performed to iteratively determine the most probable system state from the known information. Traditional state estimation techniques have improved from last several decades, but the fundamental concept have remained the same. Phasor Measurement Units (PMU) actually measures the power system state instead of indirectly estimating it, so this type of data improves the quality of the power system state estimator. In this the state estimation is formulated as an iterative least-squares problem. This paper also presents the mathematical formulation of the algorithm employed by traditional state estimation techniques by using weighted least square method. 30-37

Reduced Instruction Set Computer (hereafter RISC) is a design philosophy that has become a mainstream in Scientific and engineering applications. Increasing performance and gate capacity of recent FPGA devices permits complex logic systems to be implemented on a single programmable device. This paper illustrates the design and implementation of a 8-bit Reduced Instruction Set CPU using XILINX Spartan 3E tool and its performance analysis [5]. The RISC CPU should occupy less space area on chip. The power consumption using RISC CPU has to be less. The enhanced feature of Spartan-3E deliberately reduces the cost per logic cell designed.

For delivering, the right information with the right format to the right people at the right time and at one place the concept of Management Information System presented. Management information system typically provide the basis for integration of organizational information processing .Individual applications within the information system are developed for and by diverse set of users .This article explores developing the Unique Id Management Information System for Colleges and university. Educational Institutes, having various department, which maintains the respective department information. This unique Id management information system for colleges and university provides a unique way to manage all the information of student of institutes at one place only. This paper explains the computer based techniques to manage all the information of student at one place and quickly accessible from anywhere just by using one unique Id rather than having multiple id cards such as college id, library id ,mess id , etc.

The skyrocketing demand for a new generation of cloud-based consumer and business applications is driving the need for next generation of data centers that must be massively scalable, efficient, agile, reliable and secure. Cloud Computing moves the application software and databases to the large data centers, where the management of the data and services may not be fully trustworthy. This attribute poses many new security challenges which have not been well understood. An important aspect of the quality of service is the data storage and security. To ensure the correctness of user’s data in the cloud, there are several groups in developing standards and security for clouds and cloud security. Resource sharing in a pure plug that dramatically simplifies infrastructure planning is the promise of “Cloud computing”. The two key advantages of this model are ease of-use and cost-effectiveness. Though there remain questions on aspects such as security, the benefits of this model offers are many. This paper aims to provide a means of understanding the model and exploring options available for complementing the technology and infrastructure needs.

This project presents a Web search engine for Indian Farming needs that provides easy and fast access to Agricultural Products from multiple data sources. This project’s overarching goal is to integrate agricultural products information from different sources under a single interface to allow any user to search said information from a universal portal rather than searching in several places. The user interface will be designed and customized to help the user search for anything related to Indian Farming and get the required information within few clicks with the help of the faceted browsing. The user experience is more enhanced by using auto suggestion feature and page boosting.
